In Due Season
The most consistent concept in life is change. One of the most evident and inevitable changes comes from the seasons. Let me attempt to Spring into this blog and with hopes that you Fall right in. I hyperextended my mind trying to make sense of how our lives closely correlate with the seasons. Throughout the different seasons seeds are planted, plants grow, plants become dormant, and the cycle continues. Similarly the weather changes and our lives change. Looking back over the years on the people that were in your life that did not make it to 2014. I am not only speaking of the deceased but also the people that were once connected to you in some capacity and how they are no longer in your life. They may have been in your life for a season.
By definition, Season relates to "particular weather patterns and daylight hours, resulting from the earth's changing position with regard to the sun". In a similar context of the seasons of our life where we are either in the storm, coming out of a storm, or approaching a storm.
Because of the way my brain operates, allow me to express myself both literally and figuratively. It is expected that during pruning season, one will lose things they once considered “good” in their life. In the Spring, harvest grows, producing fruit or whatever was planted. It is important to remember that vines don’t produce fruit year around. I do not say this for you to get complacent where you are, but simply to encourage you that when things don’t seem to be working out for you, just remember the seed and your perception of things being buried or planted. It could be growing or you could be killing your crop. The unique thing about sowing season is perspective, which is heavily prominent. When the seasons change, although it may LOOK dead, it is either planted or buried. The difference between the two is being planted allows for increase. It is foolish for one to plant seeds and return the following day with expectations of seeing full-grown crop. This correlates to our prayer life and how we want instantaneous answers. Wait for it. Patience is the key. It's not that God can't offer instant results, He just allows his blessings time to mature, as well as, grow you so that you're mature enough to receive the blessing. Keep praying. God's timing is perfect, your blessings are on the brink of blooming. Psalms 67:7 reads... "Then the earth will yield its harvests, and God, our God, will richly bless us".
“Comfort is the enemy of creativity”. Trust the process. The process is necessary because it is preparation for the next place in your life.
A tree doesn't just come out the ground with fruit.. It has to go through seasons, deal with termites, buzzards, lightening ... But when the fruit comes... It's precious.. The fruit doesn't come out until you go through what you have to go through.
It is very important for the fruit to be picked right on time. Too early produces fruit that is premature, taking away from the taste and waiting too late is often at the detriment that you may not be able to enjoy it. Just like things in our life. You will experience parasites and unpleasant encounters, but you will grow from it all if you chose not to let it kill you.
Although our lives may not directly correlate with the seasons of the year, it is encouraging to know that after the rain, there will be sunshine.
“I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase and the trees of the field yield their fruit”
(Leviticus 26:4)
“Due season” is God’s appointed time for your life.
In life it is so easy to get frustrated when things are not occurring on our timetable.
It is the chaos of the time that creates the conqueror in an individual.
It is reasonable for everyone to desire their lives to consistently be in watering and reaping season to experience that increase, but it is the other seasons that prepare us for growth. The stormy seasons allow us to do a self-examination and self-reflect on issues that need to be dealt with. Inadvertently, this process is preparing us for promotion.
Do all you can with what you have where you are.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
2 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;”
If you endure it long enough, the season is sure to change. In this season there must be no wasted steps.
In order for you to walk into your new season you have to recognize it is a new season. Don't try to bring things from the old season into your new season. That’s equivalent to wearing summer clothes in the winter. To the people from Texas, I am aware the weather is not consistent, but for the sake of this blog, follow me lol. For all others that may not understand the previous sentence, Texas weather has the tendency to be steaming hot in the morning and extremely cold in the evening during the different seasons. It is very unpredictable.
Some people don't receive new things because they do not recognize the old season is over and they are trying to bring things from the old season into the new season.
We must understand that sometimes God has to take some stuff from us in order to give some stuff to us. This includes materialistic things, people, etc. So when you are trying to hold on to someone that he has removed from your life, just be mindful that you may be interrupting your new season.
He will take from you what you thought you needed to succeed when all you needed was to trust Him. Be encouraged. Your season is about to change.
You may ask "what am I supposed to do when it seems like everyone is in a reaping season and I feel stagnant"? Ha, oh how I know the feeling. Everyone seems to be happy and you are the only one that seems not to catch a break. Or everyone is in relationship and you're always the single one.. How about when everyone seems to be in their career and you're still job hunting. What about performing better than someone but they get the promotion? You are not alone. Trust me. The key to this season in your life is not to become bitter, but to trust the process and endure until your season comes. You do not want to hinder your blessings because of resentment or envy of someone else's. Also, stop comparing your seasons to others. You will always find discontentment. Again, endure until your season is over, your time will come.
There comes a season in your life where you outgrow the place you're in. This time of your life is uncomfortable but necessary. This place of the unknown is getting you ready for something you weren't prepared for ... But it is just a season. It will not last always.
Just like the season of rain comes the season of rain has to subside. It's important to remember that not everyone is meant for every season of your life so you must be conscious of who you're talking to about your what you're going through. Some people will rejoice in your stormy seasons.
It's just a matter of time.... In order for you to walk into your new season you must first recognize it is a new season. Don't try to bring things from the old season into your new season.
People don't receive new things because they dont recognize the old season is over and they are trying to bring from the old season into the new season. Three words: LET IT GO.
We must understand that sometimes God has to remove some stuff from us in order to give some stuff to us.
He will take from you what you thought you needed to succeed when all you needed was to trust Him.
Don't try to take people, places, situations, and circumstances with you in your new season
Write down things, names, and circumstances that you need to throw away.
You've carried it long enough.
You will learn valuable lessons in life's darkest season. Pruning painfully prepares a plant or person for productivity or promotion.
Trust God’s timing. Without God you can't do anything, but without you he won't do anything.
