LOCKED IN - Spiritually

As I reflect on my journey as a mental performance and athlete identity consultant, it hit me… what’s my spiritual identity? How can I translate what I teach coaches and athletes into the spiritual world? Because if I’m being honest, that’s where my strength lies. That’s where my vision was born. Everything I teach about discipline, identity, resilience, and execution didn’t just come from sport. It came from what’s been built in me spiritually.

I’d rather try and fail than fail to try.

That’s not just a motivational quote. It’s a spiritual posture. It’s a decision to move when fear is loud, when clarity isn’t perfect, and when outcomes aren’t guaranteed. In coaching, we call that execution under pressure. In faith, we call that obedience.

Too many people are waiting for certainty before they move. But if you’ve ever coached athletes, you already know that’s not how growth works. Confidence isn’t built before action. It’s built because of it.

So here’s the real question.
Do you do it scared, or do you sit still and call it waiting on God?

Let’s be honest. Some of us aren’t waiting, we’re hesitating.

You say your spiritual brand is strong. You say you trust God. But your actions hesitate the moment things don’t go according to your timing or don’t meet your expectations.

So what’s your real spiritual brand?

Because it’s easy to say just do it when everything feels aligned. But what happens when it doesn’t? Do you still move? Do you still trust? Or do you quietly pull back, overthink, and delay?

That’s where most people lose, not because they weren’t capable, but because they weren’t consistent.

And let’s talk about cutting corners.

You can’t say you’re locked in if you’re constantly looking for the easy way out. You can’t expect discipline, clarity, and breakthrough if your habits are inconsistent. That’s like expecting championship results with half effort preparation.

You aren’t like that.

At least, you’re not supposed to be.

Because as a coach, you already understand strategy. You break down film. You study tendencies. You prepare your athletes to recognize what’s coming before it happens.

So why don’t we apply that same mindset to our spiritual lives?

Why aren’t we studying patterns, our own and the enemy’s?
Why aren’t we preparing for moments of doubt, distraction, and pressure?
Why do we act surprised when resistance shows up?

In sports, we expect opposition. We plan for it.

Spiritually, we act caught off guard.

That has to change.

If you’re truly locked in, then you understand this.
You don’t just react, you prepare.

You strategize against the enemy.
You recognize tendencies like fear, distraction, insecurity, and comparison.
You don’t let them dictate your moves, you anticipate them.

And most importantly, you play your game.

Not someone else’s timeline.
Not someone else’s path.
Not someone else’s definition of success.

Your game.

Because your Coach has already prepared you.

Every lesson.
Every setback.
Every moment you thought you were behind, you were actually being built.

God speaks. The question is, do you follow?

Because when you do, things start to open. Not always instantly. Not always the way you expected. But consistently, doors move when obedience shows up.

That’s the part people don’t talk about enough.

Faith isn’t passive. It’s active. It’s movement. It’s decision making under uncertainty. It’s choosing to trust even when you don’t have full visibility.

It’s execution.

So stay focused.

Lock in.

Trust your training. Trust your preparation. Trust your Coach.

And when fear shows up, and it will, don’t wait for it to leave.

Move anyway.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready… stay LOCKED IN.
